Gameplay:
The object of the game is to close the pop-up numbers before your opponent does while having the lowest score. Roll the dice, and whatever number the dice adds up to, use the numbers that are standing up to equal the number that was indicated on the dice. Each player continues to roll until they are out of moves. At the end of their turn, the player will add up the numbers on the pieces that are still standing to determine their score. After the sum of the remaining tiles is 6 or lower, players may roll only one dice.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this Shut the Box game. This is a nice compact game that you can easily store in a backpack or in a drawer in your camper. Just something to keep you entertained on those rainy days when you can't quite make it outside. So the way you play this game, you flip all these numbered blocks up.
Like that. And then you've got two dice. So then one person will start. They'll roll. So I've got two and a one, so adds up to three.
So I can lower any of these that would add up to three. So if I want to just do the three or a one and a two. I think I'm going to go ahead and do the one on the two. Knock those down for now.So then I'll roll again. I've got a five and a two so that would equal seven.
So I'm going to go ahead and drop the three in the four which will add up to seven. And then I'll just keep rolling, working my way up. So I've got four and a two, so it'd be six. I could have done the five and the one if I still had the one up, but since I don't, I'll just go ahead and drop the six. And so on and so forth until you roll a number that you can't put down.
So here I've got a six and a one. I can do a seven. Just keep going. But if I we're to roll, say a 10. This is seven again, so obviously I don't have any numbers that can add up to seven here. So then my turn is over. I'd add up the numbers that are still standing, and that would be my score for the first round. Then I'd pass this on to the next person and they would start with all theirs up again and continue on. So you go until you can't put down the numbers to add up to what you rolled. So it is kind of a strategy game, picking the numbers that you think you won't need. Trying to get as many down before you roll a number that you can't play. And then when one person reaches a hundred points overall, and then the person with the lowest score wins. So it is a little bit of a strategy, also chance, but rolling the dice, and it can help with some addition skills. So if you've got some little ones that you're trying to help learn their math skills, I think this would be a good way of being fun and still engaging their minds. So this does come with a nice carrying case, so you can easily store your dice and your board together, and it will slide in there. So you never have to worry about having pieces go missing or anything like that. And like I said, it is going to be a nice compact game. So if you wanted to throw it in your backpack or something, purse, something easy to take along and to keep everyone entertained. It's got this draw string on the enclosure bag here so that everything stays in place and it's ready the next time you want to play. So that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
